Family Houses

The Hope Foundation for Children with Cancer establishes Family Houses that provide free accommodation and, psychological and psychosocial support services to the financially disadvantaged children and their families who travel to Istanbul from outside the city for cancer treatment.

The first Family House in Cerrahpaşa opened its doors in 2012 with the support of the donors and provides the families free accommodation under physically equipped conditions. With the growing demands and the continuation of the support from donors, a second Family House in Pendik opened in 2020 for the children to undergo treatment in a suitable environment.

In addition to free accommodation, Family Houses also carry out training and motivational activities aimed at children and their families and activities that improve the quality of life of the families by providing social work supports for their needs.

Cerrahpaşa

Family House 1

Cerrahpaşa Family House 1 consists of 14 rooms with two single and 12 double rooms.

The Family House also provides common areas such as a kitchen, playroom, computer room and, garden/playground.

Since the day it opened its doors, 704 people (286 families and 230 children) have been accommodated in Cerrahpaşa Family House 1.

Pendik

Family House 2

Pendik Family House 2 consists of 22 double rooms.

The Family House also provides common areas such as a kitchen, playroom, computer room, classroom, parent workshop, therapy room and, garden/playground.

Accommodation
Conditions

The family should be in need.

The family is still eligible for this service even if the treatment is over, but the control process continues.

The child in the treatment process must have been diagnosed with cancer. If the diagnosis is yet to be confirmed, the workup for cancer must be ongoing.

Parent(s) of the children receiving inpatient treatment can benefit from the accommodation services.

Close relatives except for the parents of the children cannot utilize the accommodation services.

Siblings of the children receiving treatment cannot receive accommodation services in Family Houses due to the sensitivity of the children with cancer.

The accommodation form must be completed, signed, and stamped by the attending physician, indicating the duration of the treatment.
